Transatlanticism was released on october 7 2003 by barsuk records. The album was new and in original shrink wrap. Which features no digital compression or clipping. Posted by 4 years ago.

Four sides of high quality 180 gram vinyl in a nice gatefold sleeve with a 12 page full color booklet. Rather than pulling the audio from the masters like they did with the sonic boom pressing it went something like this original masters cd vinyl so it lacks the quality of the first pressing. In order to produce the dsd transfer sony was adamant that no pcm source material could be used. There was some slight tearing on the album cover before opening due to inadequate packaging protection but that seems to be the norm with third party sellers. A lot of people are saying it skips a lot but others dont have any problems. The quality of the pressings seem to be a hit or miss.

Additionally the record saw digital distribution on the itunes store which had debuted that year. The german pressing is unfortunately a transcode. With that said he felt it was not completely transatlanticism and adjusted the title. So they went back to the original master tape to produce the dsd transfer.
